The quote I chose is on page 41 section 19a. It started the line above 19a and goes all the way down to the end of the paragraph.
The reason why I chose this is because its talks about how this started, and also he says he has a short amount of time to sway their minds. He lays down what he will do and that he WILL follow the law. Showing that Socrates shows respect for the law and that he doesn't disregard it. This is why is would be good information for the defence, because he said that he will follow the laws for his defence.

Athenian Values
Here are what I think the Athenian values are.
Tradition
Honoring ancestors
Courage/"manliness"
Being Kind to other people
freedom
equal rights
Equal rights and freedom, would be great points. For the defense, the reason being that Socrates was expressing his equal rights and freedom. Being able to teach the youth is in his freedom. He has the right to teach the youth just as much as any other person. Equal rights, an Athenian value, they are being hypocritical, lets let everybody teach except Socrates. Also, we wont let him be free and accuse him of heresy. So, these points would be great for the defense to point out the weakness in their argument if they bring these up anyway.
